Front Yard Transformation for Modern Curb Appeal
Updating and modernizing our home, one small space at a time, has been an ongoing and rewarding project. The transformation of our small front yard was particularly significant, despite its modest size. This project, one of the more substantial undertakings, was crucial to achieving the modern look we envisioned for the exterior of our brown stucco Tuscan-style home.
Before
Our vision included more than just landscaping; it encompassed a complete overhaul of the exterior with fresh paint using a modern neutral palette, enhanced lighting, new hardscaping elements, and replacing both the front and garage doors. The aim was to create a striking curb appeal that not only made a lasting first impression but also increased our home’s value.

Lighted Path and Steps
Before
One of my primary goals was to create an inviting, lighted pathway lined with flowering perennials leading directly to our front door. Previously, guests had to navigate the driveway to reach the entrance, which was far from the warm welcome I wanted to offer. The transformation of our front yard has been incredibly gratifying. The before- and-after photos reveal a stark contrast, illustrating just how far we’ve come. In future blog posts, I will share updates on how the plants have grown and filled in, further enhancing the beauty of our front yard.
While the new front and garage doors took several months to arrive and weren’t part of the initial “after” photos, the updated photos at the end showcases these stunning additions, completing the look we aspired to achieve. Join me on this journey of our front yard renovation. If you’re contemplating a makeover yourself, I hope our experience inspires you to take the plunge. The effort is truly worthwhile, and the results speak for themselves.
After Removal of pony wall and courtyard, creation of walkway/steps, installation of LED lighting, installation of irrigation, updated drainage system, addition of turf, plants, driveway turf strips, paint, and exterior light fixtures. Note: Updated front and garage doors to be revealed at the end.
